Todd General Store
As you enjoy the scenic drive up highway 194 you will come across Todd North Carolina, about eleven miles north of Boone. Located by the south fork of New River is the Todd General Store. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The Todd General Store has since been closed permanently. It is still a unique building and a nice place to visit. The store is across the road from Elk Creek. During the fall, Hwy 194 is a beautiful ride with views of the mountains as you drive toward Jefferson.
