Brevard
This is one of our favorite towns to visit. Brevard is a beautiful out of the way town with everything nearby. The town offers an old peaceful homey feel. The businesses all seem to be local owned and void of lots of empty store fronts found in many towns. As you walk along the streets you will see there are a wide variety of stores and restaurants for your enjoyment. Just a few miles away you will find the Pisgah National Park offering camping, hiking, swimming and horse trails. Running along the top of the mountain range above town is the Blue Ridge Parkway and just short drive away is the Biltmore House.
Around May they have the White Squirrel Festival. This is a three day festival which features bands, street vendors and a parade. They also have a 5K and 10K run and a Squirrel Box Derby race, which the kids enjoy participating.
