Moses H Cone Memorial Park

High in the Blue Ridge Mountains, located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway sits the Moses H. Cone Memorial Park. This twenty room Manor house sits atop a ridge overlooking Bass Lake in the valley below. Visitors may sign up to take the tour of the manor house or visit the craft center on the main floor.

If you want to get close to nature there are twenty five miles of carriage trails for hiking or horseback riding. (If you hike, watch your step.) There are several lower trails that take you down to the valley where Bass Lake and apple barn. If you would rather mountain trails, there are several that lead up to the family cemetery, Flat Top Tower and the top of Rich Mountain. The mountain and valley trails have beautiful views and plenty of wild life in any season.

Although the paths are wide and smooth packed gravel they can be very strenuous for some. The trail you decide to take may be long, so plan your time carefully and takes something to drink and snacks, especially if you have children.
